I used to think slow internet was just a minor hassle | Digital Nomad Life

Last Tuesday in Chiang Mai, my main client call dropped three times in an hour. I lost a contract because the connection kept freezing during my presentation. I was using a cafe's Wi-Fi, which I thought was fine for emails. Now I'm buying a local SIM with a data plan for backup every single time. How do you all handle important calls in spots with shaky internet?

My Bangkok investor pitch died twice last week.

Remember my cousin's wedding video call, it froze right as they said "I do.

xena_taylor64's situation sounds brutal. After my third dropped call that same week in Phuket, I started testing my connection with a quick speed check before any meeting. Even decent looking wifi can tank when you actually need it.
