I finally unfollowed that digital art account with 50k followers after seeing their 'process' was just cranking up contrast on low-effort sketches
Turned out the guy I'd been comparing my own work to for months was just using an auto-enhance plugin and it made me realize I should actually judge art by the original layers, not the final filter, has anyone else caught a popular artist cheating like this?

Caught a digital art account with 30k using a heavy oil paint filter on photos of real paintings they didn't even make. Filters and plugins are fine when people are upfront about them, but passing that off as raw skill is just dishonest.

Read a good piece online about how filters kill actual improvement.
