Just realized my $300 injector puller was a total waste

I bought a fancy injector puller set last year for doing powerstroke injectors. Figured it would save me time and hassle on the job. First few times it worked okay but then I had a stuck injector on a 6.0 last month and that puller just bent right up. Cost me $300 and I had to go back to the old slide hammer method I've been using for years. A buddy down at the shop uses a cheap $50 puller from NAPA and swears by it. Now I'm wondering if I just got a bad brand or if these expensive sets are mostly marketing hype. Any of you guys had luck with a specific puller that won't break the bank?

Man that stings worse than the stuck injector itself, sorry you got burned on that one.

Gently bending a puller on a 6.0 Powerstroke sounds more like a user technique issue than a tool quality problem to me. Ive pulled dozens of those injectors and if you dont get the jaw seated just right theyll tweak every time. The expensive sets usually have better grade steel but that wont save you if youre pulling at an angle or the claw isnt fully under the lip. Try the OTC 7130, its around a hundred bucks and has held up fine on everything from 6.0s to 7.3s in my experience.
