TIL most people photograph dead malls wrong - they don't get the ceiling tiles

Was walking through the old Granite Run Mall in PA last weekend and noticed everyone else taking pics of the same stuff - empty storefronts, broken escalators. But the real story is always in the ceiling. Those acoustic tiles with the tiny holes, the fluorescent light covers yellowed from 80s smoke. Thats where the time capsule lives. Anyone else focus on weird details like floor patterns or old signage brackets instead of the obvious stuff?

Maybe it's just me but I've taken so many ceiling tile pics my friends think I'm a weirdo.

Honestly, I think calling your friends weird for noticing cool ceiling tiles is way too harsh. Most people just walk through life not paying attention to anything above eye level, so having an eye for design details is actually a good thing. Ngl, they should be thanking you for noticing the little things that make a space interesting instead of giving you a hard time about it.
