Picked the food court over the arcade at Monroeville Mall and I stand by it
Everyone always says the arcade is the best part of a dead mall trip, but I spent my whole afternoon at the old Sbarro and Orange Julius spot instead. That empty tile floor with the sunken seating area felt WAY more haunting than any blinking arcade machine. I sat there for 45 minutes watching dust motes float around the skylights and it told me more about the 80s than any game could. Has anyone else skipped the obvious spots to just sit somewhere weird?

Sat in one of those old Pizza Hut locations with the stained glass lamps for a full hour once. Nothing but the hum of a dying soda fountain and some weirdly preserved carpet from 1987.

Exactly what happened to me @wyatta30. I walked into one back in 2019 that was still open but completely frozen in time. That red cup stained glass look was still there and the carpet was that weird red and brown pattern. Sat down and ordered a personal pan and it came out in like 20 minutes because they only had one guy working the oven. Felt like I was eating inside a time capsule from the 80s.
