I finally gave up on fixing that dead mall fountain

Honestly thought I could get that old fountain in the Granite Run Mall working in an afternoon. Three weekends later I was standing in ankle deep murky water holding a pump that was full of rust and dead leaves. The thing sat dry for like 15 years so every seal was shot and the motor was seized solid. Took me about 20 hours total just to realize it was cheaper to buy a whole new fountain than fix that one. Has anyone else wasted way too much time trying to restore something that was beyond saving?

Bro you could've just filled it with epoxy and called it modern art.

Tried reviving a 90s espresso machine once. Found a family of mice living in it.
