Vent: Wayback Machine didn't save that obscure DIY forum from 2002

I was trying to track down a specific post from a flooring forum I used to haunt back in 2002. It was this guy in Ohio who figured out a trick for laying vinyl sheet goods over old linoleum without it bubbling up. Saved me hours on a job once. I checked the Wayback Machine three times this week and the whole forum just isn't there. Not even a single snapshot. I guess the database got wiped before anyone archived it. What's the point of having a time machine if it misses all the good stuff? Has anyone else had luck finding old niche hobby forums that vanished?

Heard someone say most old forums never got crawled at all.

Buddy of mine ran a gaming forum from 2003 to 2010 and it had over 20,000 threads. He checked it last year in the Wayback Machine and maybe 5% of the actual posts were saved. All those detailed walkthroughs and strategy guides are just gone.
