Is it just me or did patching get harder after Microsoft dropped those monthly rollups?

I used to dread Patch Tuesday but at least you knew what you were getting. Since they moved to the cumulative update model back in 2016 or so, every single patch is a massive rollup and if one thing breaks you can't just uninstall that one KB anymore. Has anyone else found a decent way to test these without spinning up a whole lab environment?

Cumulative updates are actually way easier to manage long term.

@roseb47 they're easier until a driver update tanks your printer and you can't roll back just that one thing
