Switched my vinyl supplier after 4 months of headaches

I was dead set on this one online vinyl place because their prices were good. Then I got a rush order for a local car club's decals, 12 cars worth, and half the rolls came with a weird tacky residue that ruined three full sheets. I was standing in my shop at 2 AM trying to scrape it off with a heat gun and realized I was losing money on materials. Ended up switching to a local supplier in Denver who matched the price and their stuff lays down clean every time. Anyone else have a supplier that just caused more problems than they saved?

Did you try contacting the supplier about the residue issue before you switched? I've been burned by bad vinyl before and it's always a pain when you have to eat the cost of ruined material. The tacky residue thing sounds like they either stored it wrong or it was a bad batch from their end. My only concern with a new local supplier would be long term consistency, since you've only seen one order go clean so far. How many orders have you done with the Denver place now and has it stayed clean?

I once lost a whole weekend to bad adhesive. Local is safer for rush jobs.
