TIL a lot of people think a 'prompt' is just a question you ask a computer.
I was in a writing group in Phoenix and someone kept calling their story ideas 'AI prompts' because they typed them into a chatbot first. A prompt is a creative springboard, not just a command for a program! Does anyone else get annoyed when the craft gets confused with the tool?

Seriously, I read an article about this last week. It was talking about how the word "prompt" used to just mean a nudge for your own brain, like a writing exercise in a class. Now some folks act like it's only for telling an AI to make a picture of a cat in a spacesuit. It totally flattens the whole idea of where creativity comes from.
