That weird week my notebook got soaked in a Portland coffee shop

I mean, it was a total mess at first because my whole page of story ideas got ruined. But then I had to try and remember them all, and I ended up rewriting everything way better than before. It made me think about how a prompt for 'a character who loses their most important tool' could actually lead somewhere good. Has anyone else ever had a disaster turn into a decent writing start?
