Just realized my best prompt ideas come from bad days, not good ones

Last Tuesday I missed my bus, got soaked in the rain, and lost my wallet, but by the time I got home I had three full story outlines written in my head, so has anyone else noticed that their worst days produce their most detailed writing prompts?

Has this ever happened to you where everything goes wrong and your brain just kicks into overdrive? God, yes, last month my car broke down on the way to a big meeting and I had to wait three hours for a tow truck in the freezing cold, and by the end of it I had mapped out an entire mystery novel about a mechanic who solves crimes. It's like the stress unlocks some part of my head that just won't shut up when life is calm. I swear the best plot twists I've ever come up with happened while I was crying in a parking lot or fighting with my phone bill. Maybe our brains need the chaos to shake loose the good stuff, who knows.
