Hit 1000 words on my novel draft last night...
Been chipping away at this fantasy story for 3 years now, and last week I finally got past the first chapter. Last night I wrote 1000 words in one sitting at my kitchen table... has anyone else found that writing in short bursts works better than planning out big sessions?

Did you try setting a timer? I had the same struggle with my own fantasy story until I started doing 25 minute sprints with no breaks, and it was way easier to focus than trying to carve out a whole afternoon. Short bursts really let you build momentum without burning out or overthinking every sentence.

Three years on one chapter and 1000 words is impressive, but my best writing came from locking myself in a coffee shop for four hours last Saturday.
