Warning: the guy in Tucson sold me a "slightly used" hot tub that turned out to be a horse trough
Last month I drove two hours to Tucson off a Facebook Marketplace ad for a hot tub that said "works great, moving soon, $150." The photos looked fine, blue water, jets bubbling. I got there and it was a rusted galvanized tub sitting in a horse pen with a garden hose running into it and a pool noodle duct taped to the side as a headrest. The guy swore the jets were "inside the walls somewhere" and that his horse loved it. I was so deep in the drive I almost handed him the cash just to feel like the trip meant something. His wife walked out, looked at me, looked at the tub, and said "you're the fourth one today." I left with a sunburn and a free cooler he threw in out of pity. Has anyone else ever driven that far and still almost bought the thing just out of pride?
