That $20 microwave from Marketplace turned out to be a bait listing
I messaged a guy in Tacoma about a cheap microwave, and he kept saying it was still available but then stopped replying for 3 days. When I finally got him to meet, he shows up with a totally different model and says the original "sold" but he had this spare one for the same price. I checked the listing again and saw he'd reposted the same photo with a new description, so it was a classic bait and switch. This happens a lot with electronics under $50, especially on weekends when people are desperate. Turns out he was collecting contact info to spam folks with furniture rental ads later. Has anyone else run into sellers pulling this kind of swap trick on Facebook?

Dang, I gotta disagree with you there! I've bought plenty of cheap electronics on Marketplace and most folks are just trying to offload stuff they don't need, not run some weird contact info scam.
