Tried the load chart app on my phone vs the laminated card in the cab, and the old card won
Last Tuesday I was setting a 4,000 lb air handler at a job site out in Mesa and I had a tight radius, so I figured I would try the load chart app on my phone instead of the laminated card I keep taped inside the cab. The app took a good minute to open and then it wanted a signal update before it would show me anything. The card was right there, I just ran my finger down to the boom length and read the number. I get that the app has more configurations and it does the math for you, but when you are hanging a load and the sun is in your eyes, simple beats smart every time. I still use the app back at the yard for planning lifts, it is handy for that. But in the seat, give me the card. Any of you still keep a paper chart in the cab, or have you all gone digital?
