Why does nobody talk about how much better hair looks after 6 months of no heat styling?

I stopped using hot tools on my clients' hair last March as an experiment, and after 6 months the before and after difference in shine and breakage was wild. It honestly made me rethink how I recommend styling to people with damaged hair. Anyone else notice a huge change when they ditched the heat for a while?

Dude, yes! I finally gave up my curling iron back in January and honestly my hair has never been healthier. Around month 4 I noticed my ends stopped splitting so fast and my natural waves actually started holding their shape instead of just frizzing out. It was kind of annoying at first because my hair looked flat for like two months, but once I learned some no-heat curling methods with just some big rollers and setting spray it made a huge difference.

How long did it take before you stopped reaching for the curling iron out of habit? I feel like the first few weeks are the hardest part for me personally, but maybe thats just because I'm so used to the quick fix. Once your natural waves started holding better, did you have to change up your whole product routine too or were you already using stuff that worked with your texture?
