Warning: That busy Saturday almost wrecked my hands for a week
Last Saturday I booked back to back foil highlights and a keratin treatment, thinking I could power through. By my third client my wrist started that dull ache, but I kept going because I hate canceling. Around 4pm my thumb went numb mid-section and I dropped my comb. I finished the day with ice packs and ibuprofen, but Sunday morning I could barely grip my coffee mug. Took three days of rest and stretches before I could even hold shears again. Anyone else push through the pain and regret it later?

Ice baths for my hands after every shift fixed this for me.

Wait, I gotta push back on this a little. Cold exposure like that can actually mess with circulation if you do it too much, especially for hands. Some people swear by it but I've read that it can make inflammation worse in the long run if you're not careful. Have you ever tried warm compresses or contrast baths instead? That's what my physical therapist recommended and it felt way more balanced for recovery.
