Tried a new balayage method on a client and it cut my time in half
I used to do the classic foils for highlights, but this month I switched to using a freehand painting technique with a brush. The client's hair looked just as good, and I finished in 90 minutes instead of 3 hours. Anyone have a favorite method for speed without losing quality?

Oh man, I know exactly what you mean. I switched to a similar freehand method last year and it was a total game changer for my schedule. I use a tint brush and just paint the lightener on in sections, and the blend is so much more natural on a lot of my clients. Saves so much foil and time.

Totally agree, @sethk43. That freehand way is a huge time saver. I found my clients' roots look way softer that way too.
