Hot take: I switched from blow drying to air drying curls and it's a game changer
Used to always rough dry my clients' hair with a diffuser on high heat, thinking it gave the best volume. But after 6 months of trying air drying with a leave-in cream first, I get way less frizz and more defined ringlets. Anyone else seeing better results skipping the blow dry step for wavy hair?

I aired dried my 2B waves for the first time last summer and it was a total mess. I used a curl cream and plopped for like 20 minutes, then just let it hang. It came out super stringy and flat with zero volume. But I tried it again a few weeks ago with a mousse instead of cream and got these really bouncy, defined ringlets with way less frizz than my diffuser ever gave me. I think the trick for me was not touching it at all while it dried, not even to scrunch out the crunch until it was completely dry.

Play devil's advocate: diffusers on high heat give me way bouncier volume than air drying ever has. Air drying always leaves my waves looking flat and undefined (like a sad limp blanket or something).
