Appreciation post: my mentor told me to stop using 20 volume developer for every color job
She showed me how switching to 10 volume for gray coverage at the roots gave me way more consistent results and less damage after just two clients last Tuesday, anyone else stick to a certain developer strength out of habit?

Heard that - 20 volume has been the bane of my existence" is basically what my friend Jen used to say every time she touched a brush. She'd grab the 20 by muscle memory for like two years straight, even on root touch-ups that just needed 10. Finally her boss made her switch and she said it saved her from looking like a fried chicken on half her clients.
