Can we talk about whether it's rude to keep a good cheap eat spot secret, or share it with everyone?
I eat at a tiny spot called Mama Rosa's on 5th in my town, and last month the owner pulled me aside and asked me to stop telling people about it because they can't handle the crowd. I get it, but another part of me thinks a good spot deserves the love. So what's the rule here, do you gatekeep your hidden gems or put them on blast for everyone?

The owner telling you to stop is basically them saying they'd rather stay small than deal with lines out the door, and that's their call to make since it's their living. Word of mouth is a double edged sword, you can't really undo it once people know, so maybe just let the place grow on its own from here.
