I found a working 1996 GeoCities fan page last week by typing the URL wrong on purpose
Everyone says the old web is gone because the links are dead, but I stumbled onto a working 1996 GeoCities page for a Chuck Norris fan club in Des Moines just by guessing the old neighborhood names like SiliconValley and Area51 in the URL. The page still loads with a hit counter stuck at 1,247 and a guestbook last signed in 2003, and it took me maybe 10 tries to land on it. Has anyone else had luck guessing old neighborhood paths instead of using the Wayback Machine?

Wouldn't that guestbook from 2003 be full of spam links and dead emails? Guessing paths is just luck, most old pages got wiped when GeoCities shut down for good.
