I thought the laser level on a tripod was a gimmick until I framed a 24 foot wall last week
I'll admit it, I rolled my eyes when my foreman pulled out the laser and tripod on a Monday job in Fresno. Spent the next two hours setting floor plates and every single line came out dead on, no string, no squinting down a chalk line. My old rotary level would have taken me half a day to chase the same wall and I still would have been off a quarter inch at the far end. It's not perfect, the receiver still gets fussy in direct sun, so your mileage may vary on an outdoor pour. Curious what you all do when the laser just won't read in bright light, do you fall back to the old ways or wait for shade?
