That stat about JFK witness deaths always bugged me until I actually looked into it
I was reading through some old Warren Commission stuff online last night, and I found out that out of 552 people who were near Dealey Plaza that day, only 15 died unnaturally within 3 years. That surprised me because I always heard people say it was way higher. Found the numbers on a site called the JFK Facts page run by a guy named Max Holland. Has anyone else checked the real stats on that?

Actually "552 people near Dealey Plaza" overstates it since most weren't official witnesses.

Yeah @casey943, you're right to call that out. Official witness lists always get scrubbed and contested, so the real number of people who saw something is probably a lot higher or lower depending on who's counting. Take it from someone who's dug through old case files - you gotta separate the signed affidavits from the people who just happened to be standing there.
