Warning: a 100-yard pour in the rain last Tuesday

The boss said we had to finish the slab for the new warehouse before the storm hit, but it came early. We ended up working with plastic sheets over our heads and the bull float, which made the whole surface look like a wavy lake. Has anyone else had to finish a big pour in a downpour and found a trick that actually works?

Saw a tip like @emery18's, but using wet vacs on wheels.

My buddy had a crew get caught in a surprise storm on a strip mall foundation. They tried the plastic sheet thing too, but the water kept pooling in the low spots. What saved them was having a couple extra guys with push brooms just walking the edge of the pour, constantly sweeping the rainwater off before it could sink in. It looked crazy, but it kept the surface from getting wrecked. They still had to grind down a few rough patches after it cured, but it was way better than a total washout.
