Tiny win: found out a wet sponge on my trowel stops the cream from rolling
Was fighting with a slab in Austin last week where the cream kept peeling off every pass. Someone told me to keep a damp sponge on the trowel edge, and it actually flattened out perfect. Anybody else got a random trick that saved a pour?

That TX cream peeling got me good last year in El Paso, I thought my trowel was cursed or something until I tried the sponge trick too. @the_jesse called it with the Texas lime comment, my mix was fighting me worse than a drywall patch in July. Guess I owe that damp sponge and some dumb luck for saving that slab from looking like a topographical map.
