Remembering a brutal week in July 2018 pouring a warehouse floor in 100-degree heat.

The crew was dropping like flies from the heat, and we had to rent a second power trowel when the first one's motor seized. Anyone else ever have a job where the weather just tried to end you?

My buddy was roofing in Texas last summer and his whole crew got heat rash so bad they had to wrap their arms in plastic wrap under their shirts. They went through a case of Gatorade before lunch every single day.

Actually plastic wrap makes heat rash way worse.

Yeah, the plastic wrap thing is a common trick but it's actually a bad idea. Heat rash happens when sweat gets trapped under your skin, so wrapping it in plastic just locks that moisture and heat in even more. It can turn a mild rash into something that gets infected or blisters up fast. Guys in hot jobs are better off using a loose cotton shirt and powder or something that actually lets the skin breathe.
