My power trowel blade broke mid-pour on a driveway job in Arvada
I was finishing a 30 yard driveway last Tuesday when the blade on my MBW trowel just snapped clean off. Had to stop everything and borrow a trowel from a buddy across town, which cost me about 2 hours of daylight. Anyone else ever had a blade fail on them like that mid-job?

Had that happen once with a worn-out blade on a hot day. Not fun. Bet the homeowner loved watching you scramble. Bet your buddy loved getting that call too.
Probably should've checked the blade for cracks before the pour. Hindsight and all that. Hope the concrete didn't set too fast while you were gone.

Drove straight to the hardware store after that call and bought a case of blades to keep in my truck, felt real smart when the cashier asked if I was okay. Nothing like explaining to a homeowner why you need to run errands while their driveway is halfway done. The concrete gods were merciful that day, only had to grind down a couple spots where it set up a little early. Still haven't lived down the nickname "Snap Crackle Pop" from the crew either.
