A neighbor watched me finish their driveway and said it looked great
He asked how I got the edges so CRISP. Told him about using a magnesium float, and he was genuinely INTERESTED. Stuff like that reminds me why I LOVE this trade.

My edges look like I let a drunk raccoon do them. I tried a magnesium float once and still ended up with a wavy line that would make a topographer dizzy. Some of us have the touch, and some of us have two left hands (guess which one I got).

Explain what happened with that magnesium float exactly (like, did it just slide around on you?). I've heard they can be tricky if the concrete is too wet or too dry. Your raccoon analogy is killing me, by the way (so vivid). Do you think it's a tool issue or more about the technique? Sometimes it's both, honestly.
