A homeowner's one comment made me rethink how I finish garage floors

Last month I was doing a 600 square foot garage slab in Austin, and I was using my usual magnesium float for the final pass. The homeowner watched for a while and said, 'Why is it so slick? I want to walk on it without slipping.' I laughed it off at first, but then I thought about it, so I switched to a broom finish on the next 40 feet. That comment pushed me to learn how to do a proper light broom texture on interior floors, and now I ask every client about traction before I even start. Has anyone else changed their finishing method because a customer pointed out something you never considered?

Why do people always assume smooth means slippery, slick floors are easier to clean and look way better?

Ha! Same thing happened to me with a pool deck, now I always ask first.
