Visited a client's server room in Boulder and changed my mind about rack cable management

Their spaghetti of loose CAT6 somehow ran flawlessly for 8 years with zero downtime, and now I'm rethinking all those hours I spent zip-tying everything perfectly in my own racks.

Wait, you're telling me there's a production rack out there that looks like a rat's nest and has been more reliable than my perfectly groomed setup? That's the IT equivalent of finding out the guy who eats gas station sushi has better health than your gym rat friend. I've spent entire weekends with zip ties and velcro straps making my cables look like a work of art, only for them to fail during a firmware update. Meanwhile, some tech in Boulder just wiggled a loose cable and said "good enough" eight years ago. Maybe the secret to uptime is just not touching anything and letting the chaos organize itself.
