Old tower in a client's basement had a triple RAID array I almost missed

I was swapping out a power supply in a circa 2004 Dell tower last Friday and noticed three drives hooked up in a RAID 5 I wasn't told about. Pulled one to test and it clicked twice, so now I'm wondering if I should've backed up the whole thing before touching anything. Anyone else run into hidden arrays in ancient machines that customers swear they never had?

Testing one drive first was the wrong move, pulling two would've told you more.
