Hot take: the guy at the Phoenix repair shop said to quit using canned air on fans
I was picking up a laptop at a shop on Camelback Road and the tech there told me he sees about 5 dead fans a month from canned air spinning them past their limit. He said the propellant blasts them way faster than they were built to spin and the bearings go dry. I've been using a soft brush and a vacuum on low for the past 2 months and haven't had a fan come back yet. Anyone else heard this, or is he just selling replacements?
