Everyone raves about remote desktop tools, but last Tuesday I drove 45 minutes to fix a paper jam because TeamViewer couldn't make the client's printer work.

The client spent 20 minutes arguing that I should just 'fix it from here' while I stood there holding the jammed receipt paper like an idiot, has anyone else had a remote tool fail on something so basic?

Bet on the remote tools failing is half the fun, otherwise you'd never get to see the look on their face when you show up with a screwdriver.

Did you label every single wire in the back of the panel with a Brother P-Touch, or did you just wing it like the last guy? Because I learned the hard way that a blurry photo from 2014 isn't going to help you trace which cable goes to the third floor thermostat when the power's out. Now I keep a laminated diagram taped inside the cabinet door, saved me three hours of swearing last winter.
