Shoutout to the old timer in Port Arthur who told me to quit greasing my neck seal
I always slathered silicone grease on my neck dam before every dive because that's how I was taught on my first job in 2019, but after a 3 hour dive in 40 degree water my neck was still raw and the seal kept leaking. He told me to clean it with plain soap and water and leave it dry, and the leaks basically stopped after two dives. Is this just a drysuit thing or does it matter on a regular wetsuit hood too?
