Am I the only one who wasted $600 on a drysuit repair kit that didn't work?

Bought one of those fancy self-repair kits for my drysuit last month after I got a small tear near the knee. Followed the instructions to the letter but the patch peeled off after my second dive in 45 degree water off Port Angeles. Had to take it to a real shop and pay another $150 to get it fixed right. Has anyone else tried those kits and had them fail on a cold water job?

Did you use the proper primer for 45 degree water temps though?

Most primers that work in cold weather still need some prep like warming the tube in your pocket for a bit before applying. The cool temp stuff usually has different solvents but you still gotta shake it really well or it separates. Might be worth checking the manufacturer's site for the exact cold weather procedure since some brands are more forgiving than others.
