The pour-over barista at the airport who timed my pour with a metronome
Flying out of Portland last Tuesday and I stopped at this tiny kiosk near gate C12... the guy running it had a little metronome clicking on the counter and he was pouring my water in exact 4 second intervals. I asked him about it and he said it keeps his rhythm steady when the terminal noise gets loud, which honestly makes sense, but watching him bob his head to a beat while making a V60 was surreal. My cup came out great, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't stop giggling every time he hit a downbeat with the kettle. Anyone else run into baristas with weird timing tricks or has everyone just got a scale and a timer like normal people?
