Hit 1,000 cups on my kitchen scale and the number actually surprised me
So about 6 months ago I started weighing my coffee instead of using the scoop, mostly to save beans and cut down on waste. I have this cheap kitchen scale from Target that I tared at zero and never reset again, so it counts every gram of beans I grind. Last night after my evening cup I looked down and the running total read 1,000 grams of beans, which works out to roughly 80 to 100 cups for me since I usually brew 10 to 12 grams per cup. What got me was seeing it as one number instead of a daily habit I never thought about. I knew I drank a lot of coffee but 1,000 grams in 6 months made me realize I go through about a pound every 3 weeks, which is honestly more than I expected. My roommate said that is nothing compared to his parents but it felt like a lot to me. Does anyone else track stuff like this, or am I just being weird with my scale?
