Walked past a coding bootcamp in Chicago and saw something that worried me
I was downtown last week and saw a big sign for a 'Learn to Code in 12 Weeks' program. They had a line of people outside, all looking excited. But I talked to one guy who just finished. He said he paid $15,000 and they barely covered the basics. He was lost when they started talking about APIs and databases. The whole thing felt rushed, like they just wanted his money. It made me think about how we tell beginners to start. Jumping into a huge, expensive program might not be the best first step. Maybe a free online course or a local library class is smarter. Has anyone else seen these bootcamps and felt the same way?
