Bought a $200 course on git and honestly feel more lost than before

I been coding for about 8 months now, mostly doing free stuff on youtube and some random tutorials. Last month I got sick of not knowing how to undo my mistakes so I paid $200 for this beginner git course that had like 40 hours of video. Big mistake. The guy goes so fast and assumes you already know terminal commands. I watched the first 10 hours and still cant figure out how to fix a merge conflict without googling every single step. I'm thinking about just using a GUI app instead. Anyone else waste money on a course like this and end up learning more from a 15 min youtube video? What actually helped you guys get git to click?
