The day a coolant hose let go and painted my whole shop floor like a Jackson Pollock
Was running a 3-hour job on the Haas VF-4 at work last Tuesday when a stupid little brass fitting on the coolant line blew off and sprayed neon green fluid all over everything including my boots and the floor drain, and now I double-check every single quick-connect before hitting start, has anyone else had a coolant fitting just decide to quit on you mid-cycle?

It's always the little things that cause the biggest messes, isn't it? A tiny brass fitting vs. a whole shop floor, and the fitting wins every time. That's just how life works honestly, you can plan for big disasters but the dumb small stuff always sneaks up on you. I've noticed it with cars too, people obsess over engine swaps and turbos but a 5 dollar radiator hose fails and leaves them stranded. Same with houses, everyone worries about the roof but a cheap toilet supply line bursts and floods the bathroom. It's like the universe has a sick sense of humor, testing you with the most boring parts of everything. Bet you'll never look at a quick-connect the same way again, that's a scar you carry for life.

You know, @stellat87, I used to think people who focused on the little stuff were just being paranoid or wasting time. Then a tiny o-ring in a pressure washer fitting gave out last summer and sprayed water all over my garage, warped a bunch of my tools and ruined a project I'd been working on for weeks. Funny how that changes your mind, right? That nickel part taught me more about being careful than any big expensive mistake ever did.
