Programmed offsets wrong for 8 months until a bad part finally tipped me off
I ran a job in Dayton for a year always adding .002 to my Z just because the first setup guy said so, turned out the probe was off and every part sat high. Customer sent back a batch of 40 flanges last week, I remeasured one and realized my whole routine was compensating for a phantom. Anyone else trust an old habit over fresh math and pay for it with scrap?
