Wasted $300 on those solar panel cleaning kits from Amazon
I bought one of those fancy solar panel cleaning kits with the extendable pole and special soap. Thought I was being smart maintaining my panels myself instead of paying a pro. After 2 months, my energy bill went UP not down. Turns out those cheap kits leave a residue that blocks sunlight. Got a local guy out here in Tucson to do it right for $80 and my output jumped 15%. Has anyone else fallen for those DIY solar cleaning scams?

Wait, so you paid extra to lower your energy bill and it went up instead? That's some real "I spent money to lose money" energy right there.

Totally feel you on this one @cole_mitchell8. I had the same thing happen - got all these fancy smart plugs and a new thermostat, and my bill somehow jumped $20 the first month. Took me like three months to figure out the system was actually running more because I had it set to "comfort mode" 24/7. Once I dialed it back to a schedule, things finally evened out. Just sucks when you're trying to do the right thing and it backfires at first.
