Saw a local creek in Boise go from dry to flowing after a rain garden project

The city put in a bunch of plants and rocks to slow down storm water. Now that little creek by the park has water in it almost all year, which I never saw before. Has your town done any projects like that to help with water?

The one thing I never see them talk about is the noise. That little creek by my old place used to be silent, now you can actually hear the water running. It changes the whole feel of the neighborhood.

Yeah, that's awesome. Did they use mostly native plants? My city did something similar by an old shopping center. They put in these shallow, wide ditches filled with gravel and plants like sedges. Now you can actually see the ground water level come up after a big rain instead of it all just rushing into the storm drain.
