Rain catcher mess in the storm, but a quick patch worked

From my view, my rain water setup got flooded when we had that heavy rain last Tuesday. I had to seal a crack with some tape, and now it collects water without trouble. Your mileage may vary, but what do you do when your eco projects spring a leak?

Wait, you used regular tape and it held? That's wild, I'd expect it to peel right off in the wet. Guess sometimes the simple fix just works, huh?

Tape adhesive can actually get stronger with a little heat. If that spot gets sun, it might have baked on there pretty good.

Consider where the tape was placed on your setup. If you sealed a crack on the dry upper section, even basic tape can last a good while because it's not constantly soaked. That's a detail folks often miss when they picture the whole thing being wet. A fix in the wrong spot would wash off fast.
