I used to think my old gas mower was fine, but the numbers changed my mind

For years, I just used the same gas push mower on my little yard, maybe an hour a week. I never really thought about it. Then last spring, I saw a chart online saying a typical gas mower puts out as much pollution in an hour as a car driving 100 miles. That hit me hard. I switched to a simple electric reel mower, the kind you push. It takes a bit more effort, but it's quiet and the air smells like cut grass, not exhaust. Has anyone else made a switch like that with their yard tools and noticed a difference?

That stat about the gas mower is wild, but it makes sense. It feels like we're all slowly waking up to how many small, noisy, smelly engines are just part of the background in our neighborhoods. Switching my leaf blower to a battery one was the same kind of moment, the quiet alone is a huge win. It's funny how you don't notice the constant low grade fumes and racket until they're gone.

My neighbor's gas trimmer used to make my whole Saturday morning smell like a garage. I switched to a battery model last year, and the biggest surprise was the quiet. I can actually hear the birds while I'm edging the lawn now, and I don't have that faint headache from the fumes anymore. It feels less like a chore and more like just being outside.
