Vent: people keep using the wrong brush on clay flue tiles

I was on a job last Tuesday in an old house near downtown and the homeowner had tried cleaning his own flue with a wire brush. It gouged the clay liner so bad I could feel the rough spots with my gloved hand. How do you get folks to stop using metal brushes on clay without sounding like a jerk?

I’ve seen a guy tape a big “clay only” sign right on the brush handle.

@reese_lane29 nah, a sign just invites people to ignore it and use it anyway.
