Guy in Omaha handed me a mirror and told me to look at my own face after a soot job
I was doing a big brick fireplace in Omaha last month and the homeowner kept hovering, and I was getting annoyed until she handed me a hand mirror and said my face was covered in soot streaks from wiping my brow with a dirty glove. I started keeping two pairs of gloves in my pouch, one for the firebox and one clean pair for touching anything else, and my callbacks on soot smudges went from like two a month to zero. Does anyone else run a clean glove rotation or am I just late to this?
