The great kitchen towel transformation of 2024

My line cook used to bring in these cheap, thin towels that fell apart after a single shift, leaving lint on everything. I finally bought a dozen of those heavy-duty, waffle-weave ones from a restaurant supply store for about $60 total. Has anyone else had a simple gear upgrade that completely changed your daily grind?

Sixty bucks for a dozen towels? That's more than I spend on my own bath towels.

And you actually use them after paying that much? I'm just wondering because I've grabbed cheap packs before and they fall apart after a few washes. What makes these hold up better than the ones at Target?

I used to think that was crazy until I tried a few myself.
